How does LA HLPP work?
LA HLPP provides no cost legal consultation, advice and linkages to other legal and social service providers.

After you complete a comprehensive intake with LA HLPP, our staff and volunteers will make best efforts to address your specific legal need or question. LA HLPP is your partner and advocate in navigating the legal system.

LA HLPP focuses on areas of pressing concern to the community including, but not limited to, the following legal issue areas:

  • Advance Planning (Wills/Power of Attorney/Advance Health Care Directives)
  • Debtor/Creditor Issues 
  • Employment
  • Immigration
  • Landlord/Tenant
  • Law and policy research on HIV/AIDS-related issues
  • Legislative and policy analysis advocacy at the local, state and federal levels
  • Public Benefits
  • Traffic/Parking Violations
